Superfriends: Last Minute Shopping

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...April 4

We woke up early that day. Cha, Men, Jo and Iris would still want to go back to Mongkok. I guess they ended up in Causeway while me, Kr and Eu preferred to roam around TST area. So off we go to Harbour City. Hello, H&M! We spent at least three hours inside. Why oh why? SALE!

Hours before our shopping, we already checked out from the hostel. Good thing they allow us to leave our baggage until 6pm. We had our last minute pasalubong shopping at 3pm. By 6pm, we are already onboard the ferry going back to Macau.
We arrived Macau past 7pm. There were no vans or taxi that will take us to Coloane. Weird, isn’t it? So we decided to take the free shuttle by Venetian. We planned to take the taxi back to Coloane from Venetian. But oh dear, The Venetian was too good to be snobbed that day so we decided to take our Venetian tour. Thank God for the baggage area facility. We took our time. We had pictures, some stroll and some good laugh.

By 12mn, we are hungry. The group decided to have the “splurge”dinner. One good thing about casinos, they have 24-hour restaurants. And so Old Neptune Restaurant became our last stop. Total bill, MOP1,000++. But since we were already members of the Sands Rewards, we got a 15% discount from our bill. Fab!

By 1am, we were all tired and sleepy. We found ourselves hailing cabs for Coloane because some taxi’s complain about how far it was from The Venetian. After a few minutes, we got a cab… with a female driver. We arrived Coloane past 2am already and I was the first one to hit the sack.

Superfriends: Amazing Race Hong Kong.

April 3.

As usual, we woke up late. Today’s itinerary: Ngong Ping and Disneyland. We arrived at Ngong Ping at around 10am. Unexpected: looooong freakin’ line. Just for the tickets. And another loooong line for the cable ride. In short, we spent closely two hours to ride the car. But was it worth it? Hell yeah! We got the crystal cable! Look.

i took a photo of our shoes with the sea as our background
 whoah!

we were moving backward and upward.

Since the lines took up most of our time, we just took a few photos with Buddha. Iris, Eu and I ran back to the cable station to catch the next ride. And where are we heading to? Disneyland! Yey!!!!

Oh, Disneyland was heaven! It brought out the child in me. I cried during the parade. And I sang, too!

We rode the tea cups!

After the fireworks, we literally ran back to the MTR Station in Disney and head back to Sunny Bay and another MTR ride to Tung Chung. We just got to have our chance to shop at their outlet stores. And although we arrived at around 9pm, we were still able to manage to shop for some pasalubongs. Giordano and Esprit had quite a sale.

After the quick shopping, we met the rest of the group at MTR Central Station and we all went back
to TST. Late dinner, anyone?

Superfriends: We’re moving to Hong Kong!

April 2.

We left Coloane at around lunch time. The challenge of having a big group when traveling is the preparation time. That includes, waking up, taking turns in the toilet/ bathroom, eating, chikka. We arrived at the Ferry Terminal, bought our tickets and headed to the departure area. There weren’t too many passengers at that time so our transit was a breeze. Ferry ride, baby! It took us an hour to reach Hong Kong!
this is where we stayed in Coloane
that's us in the ferry going to HK
We checked in at Cosmic Hostel. We chose the hostel because it was cheap and the location was a star. Just right along Nathan Rd. in Tsim Tsui. MTR exit is just around the corner. Malls, shops, fast food chains, everything is just right down the road. Cosmic Hostel is housed in Mirador Mansion. Just along the alley, there’s a foreign exchange counter, souvenir and fashion shops.

We didn’t waste our time. As soon as we checked in, we went to Mongkok! Please spell SHOPPING. J

We left Mongkok to witness the Symphony of Lights at Avenue of Stars. And oh, I was able to score a North Face backpack for Aldrin and a Nike sling pouch for me. North Face bag was at HK$345 and I haggled ‘til we close it at HKD210. I got my Nike sling pouch at HK$108. Exchange rate was HK$1.00=Php6.20. Quite a steal, right?
We rode the MTR to Tsim Sha Tsui and walked… walked… walked until we reach the Avenue of Stars. And there’s the Symphony of Lights. Spectacular! Imagine those tall buildings dancing.

walking our way to the ferry terminal. we're going to Central.
After the Symphony of Lights, we strolled through Salisbury Rd. until we get to the Ferry terminal to reach Central, Hong Kong Island. What’s the plan? Go to The Peak Tram. We reached the peak at 10:30pm. It was freakin’ cold that we ordered soup for our late dinner and took a taxi down to Central Station and rode again the MTR back to TST. As soon as we arrive at the hotel, we surely did hit the sack without a word.  Time check: 1am.

Superfriends: Hello, Macau!

Guess where we stayed in Macau? Our good friend Cha-cha has a lot of connections. Her family had a friend who has a condo in Macau. Well, not literally in Macau but in some descent and fabulous outskirts – Coloane! We met Ate Ping, her sister, Ate Rose and Ate Rose’s partner, Kuya Maui.
We were so surprised they picked us up in the airport! They are really the best hosts in the world. They took us to their condo which is about a 30-minute drive from the airport. When we got inside their unit, WOW! That was all we can say. These pictures will you a story.
